Dressing for 2...

...or should I say 4!  I felt prepared to dress for 2, I had a lot of things in my wardrobe that I knew would double at 'Maternity wear' once I got bigger, but the one thing I wasn't prepared for was how big my boobs would get! A lot of clothes still fit my belly, hell, my jeans all mostly still fit! It's the days I want to put on a dress with a blazer and tights that will fit my belly, to my surprise won't fit my chest anymore! Today, I had to improvise! I have 2 adorable cotton shelf bra dresses from Victoria's Secret that I knew would be perfect for showing off my baby bump.  Unfortunately the shelf bra, which used to be the dresses best feature, was limiting today because my knockers would not fit into the tiny 'shelf'.  I had to end up wearing a bra with it, so you couldnt see the elastic line across the middle of my chest, and putting on a tank underneath, then throwing a scarf over to hide the tank.  It ended up working out, but made for a frustrating morning for an otherwise simple outfit.

H&M Maternity Wear

Finding cute maternity clothes has been a harder task than I thought.  When I got pregnant I figured I could wear a lot of the things I already owned for awhile (which I have) But now a lot of my shirts are looking just a little too short and tight in the belly area.  So I decided it was time to upgrade to some cute maternity clothes.  I thought to myself, "It's 2014, there should be plenty of cute, fashion forward maternity clothes out there".  Wow was I wrong! I was pleasantly surprised to find that H&M has a maternity section, along with ASOS, but I was highly disappointed in the selection at some other retailers.  Apparently just because you're pregnant, you are no longer allowed to be cute, you must look homely and dare I say it, like a MOM! Granted, I'm 29 years old, it's not like I'm 16 and pregnant, but it doesn't mean I want to start looking like I shop at Cold Water Creek (no offense, Mom) Here are a few of my faves from H&M, standby for an ASOS post coming up next week!

Spring Colors

It is currently 57° in Akron, OH-can I get a hallelujah! I decided with the warm weather upon us (we're supposed to get snow again tomorrow) that I would dress a little 'springy' today, complete with floral pumps.  I'm rocking the baby bump a little (kind of just looks like a muffin top) But I'm slowly getting that baby belly.  I had to rubber band my pants today (you moms will know what I'm talking about) but proud to say I'm still in all my regular pants :)

24 Weeks-Party Pants!

Sorry to my readers (all 2 of you, lol) that I have not been keeping up on my pregnancy fashion posts.  I mainly blame this harsh, harsh Ohio winter we have been having that I have not had it in me to dress cute enough to blog about.  It's been below zero more days than I can count and that kind of weather just drains all of my fashion energy. Old comfy sweaters and leggings have been a staple, there has been nothing to see on this prego.  But the calling of temperatures in the mid 50's today prompted me to bust out my rarely worn Tory Burch flats and a new buy from Target.  I have never in my life felt so guilty about buying 2 tops from Target, but I wanted to get a few large shirts in my wardrobe before I actually needed them.

Another reason I haven't been blogging, is that I haven't bought any new clothes since before Christmas! I never thought I'd be able to tighten up my purse strings, but it's amazing what the fear of becoming a mother will do to you.  In our marriage, I am the spender, Trey is the saver. But since I've been pregnant I get on him about every penny we spend.  I'm constantly telling him we can't afford things, and worried about our budget, but in all reality we are doing fine. I bought 2 tops and a the white tank underneath for $40 and had horrible buyers remorse (but not enough to return them). I'm hoping with spring on the horizon I'll get back to my old self and get some cute summery maternity wear.

No bump in this pic, I bought the top in a Large for when I do get bigger I have a few summery tops to fit my growing bump.  But I am thankful that starting my 6th month of pregnancy I can still fit into my faux leather pants :)
