Dressing for Thanksgiving

I don't know why, but I love dressing up for holidays. Even Thanksgiving where I'm just going to stuff myself and likely remove my pants. I came up with a few different Thanksgiving outfits that will still be comfy and stretchy for when the food baby arrives.

Casual

I just got this sweater from Target this week. I can see its being really versatile and can dress it up or dress it down. (and currently only $10 for Black Friday)  The jeans are Express and are amazingly soft and stretchy! I will only buy their jeans on sale, so Black Friday is going to be the perfect chance to stock up on a few more pairs since everything is 50% off!! I found these booties at the Dillards outlet at Eastwood mall, but there are so many other places to find a cute, cheap pair of booties. TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack to name a few. Here is a similar pair, on sale now.

Dressy

I hate to admit how much I love and still shop at Forever 21.  I just got this below the knee-length, ribbed green dress last week (similar) and thought it was the perfect color for Thanksgiving. Paired with this blanket scarf my sister got me as an early Christmas present, It can be worn as a scarf or shawl (similar item).  These boots were the perfect end of winter purchase last year, I got them on sale from Nordstrom and they're so comfortable!

Comfortable

This last look is basically my "I wanted to wear pajamas, but I decided to actually wear clothes that were as comfy as pajamas" look.  My favorite black leggings from Victoria's Secret. I found this super cozy off the shoulder sweater at Forever 21 for $10 (similar sweater from H&M, buy a size or 2 larger to get the off the shoulder look), and I just got myself some new UGGS for the first time in about 9 years!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!!!

Here we go again...

Ok, so I get a lot of messages on Facebook about such a wide range of topics.  From car seats, to where I shop for my kids, Whole30, Breastfeeding, Norwex, make up and microblading, I could probably go on...So I'm going to TRY really hard to turn this into a fully functional, funny, helpful, and informative "Mom blog". I've been putting it off for awhile now and I just decided it was time.  And in proper fashion my laptop took a shit the night I sat down to write this post.  So I'm currently posting from an 11 year old laptop that is missing some keys (insert facepalm emoji).

This first post is going to talk a little about Whole30.  My last few blog posts were also Whole30 related but I didn't want to make this an entire blog about just that.  But I get asked about it, a lot. It was a total game changer for me and I looked better than I did before I even had kids.  It's true that abs are made in the kitchen.  It's been 9 months since my first round and with changed overall lifestyle habits I've kept most of the weight off. The main part for being successful is the meal planning and food prep.  I use this print off to plan out my entire week of meals over the weekend, then make a separate list of all the ingredients I will need and sometimes even break it up by which stores I need to go to.  I try to shop primarily between Costco and Aldi, sometimes making the 40 minute drive to Trader Joes for what I can't get at the other stores.

Here's a list of some main foods you will need if you are interesting in starting a Whole30:
Eggs-I eat eggs almost every day for breakfast, its been almost a year and I'm not sick of them yet, I did go through a phase where I had an aversion to the avocado slices I was adding, but I am still religiously eating eggs every morning.
Cashews-I'm not sure why but these have become my "treats". I love the bags of raw cashews from Trader Joes.
Ghee-clarified butter, it's basically butter with the dairy removed and it's freaking delicious!
Zucchini-I eat a lot of zucchini noodles, a spiralizer was definitely the best $15 I've spent at Target. I also bought this one as well for thinner noodles that I like for my pad thai.
Fresh fruit-I keep fresh fruit on hand for sides and snacks, it's also perfect for a quick, on the run snack.
Ground turkey-I'll buy it in bulk from Costco and I use it for all different recipes, from adding it to my eggs in the morning, throwing it atop some sauteed kale, and one of my main go-to meals is zoodles, ground turkey and veggies with salsa on top. I don't really like Aldi's salsa, so I'll make the drive to Trader Joes for theirs.

I could really talk Whole30 all night, but I'll try and wrap this up. I know I've given empty promises of some good recipes and I swear they're coming soon, so stay tuned!
