Another Round of Whole30...

It seems to be all I’ve posted about for awhile now, but I get a lot of questions surrounding this “diet”. I use the word “diet” because it really has been a lifestyle change for me. I started clean eating and working out last year on 1/16/17 and I managed to keep most of the weight off. But if you asked me at the start of 2018 where I thought I was in comparison to last year, I would have thought I was basically the same. I’m so glad I take pictures to look back on and also just to help keep me on track. I was shocked at how much of a difference this years “starting point” was from last year. I will probably hit my “goal” before I even finish the full 30 days.

I made my signature breakfast scramble (found on the blog post linked) for breakfast for the week, and I recently purchased Melissa Hartwigs new recipe book 'Whole30 Fast & Easy' and made Grilled steak and charred onion salad and it was every bit of delicious as every other Whole30 recipe. The more and more I do it, the less and less deprived I feel. Plus any “diet” where I can still eat bacon and steak is really something I can handle. Black coffee has honestly been my hardest obstacle which is ironic considering I only drank my coffee black before having Cambria. Thank God for nutpods!

I’ve found the recipes get easier also the more you do Whole30. When I first started clean eating and I’d read some of these ingredients and think “Who the fuck just has that lying around?” Well now, Me! I do! I have Ghee, mustard powder, fresh cilantro, arrowroot powder, almond flour, coconut oil. I’ve continued buying ingredients that I use for Whole30 recipes because it’s just become habit.

Follow up to the above post:
I'm currently on day 7 and although I cheated a little over the weekend (I'm not taking this round as serious as some of my past Whole30s) I have been so excited about all the recipes I have book marked to make and forgot HOW GOOD Whole30 eating really is! I highly suggest the books, the recipes are just amazing! I'm sure there are plenty of good ones online/blogs/pinterest as well, but I prefer having it right in front of me when I'm trying to cook.

Below I'm sharing some super embarrassing pics.  My "before" from last year, when I started eating clean, working out and doing all this Whole30 business. and my "before" from this year, after I've basically "let myself go" since August.

I don't have a ton of work to do, to get where I want to be, but cutting sugar and alcohol is just HUGE!
