Healthy Snacking

I stumbled upon the most delicious healthy snack the other day.  I purchased unsweetened banana chips from a health food store and to my dismay they were not very tasty.  I ended up eating them anyhow, but a few days later, I realized I had honey and decided to put a little bit of natures sugar on them and WOW! Delish! I also added them to my oatmeal too which was different, but not in a bad way.  So next time you are looking for some healthy snacks for your desk at work, try banana chips and honey, Natures Candy! Lol

This is what my afternoon snacking usually looks like
So the banana chips are a huge improvement!

I'm obsessed with my fur vest.  I'd honestly wear it everyday if it were socially acceptable.  ("I'd drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable"-name that quote! lol)

I Wanna be a Cowboy Baby...

I wasn't aware that I'd get so much use out of my cowboy boots I got for my birthday, but I find myself wearing them all the time {Seen here, here & here}  They were supposed to be black, but ended up being more grey, which I'm totally fine with.  I can't wait till the weather gets nicer {please, hurry, hurry, hurry} so I can wear them with dresses :)

Neon Sweater/Hunter Boots

I don't have much to say about this outfit, other than I love bright colors, but that seems kind of obvious.  Oh! And these rain boots were the best investment I've made in a long time! I wear them all the time! Ohio winters require them.  The weather goes from cold, snowy, warm, melted snow, rain, sleet, snow, rain again.  And this is all within one afternoon.  UGGS just aren't getting the job done with how wet it's been.  I have been wearing my Hunters probably 3+ times a week! Love them!

Hot Pink and Blue

I love this hot pink sweater! It's so versatile and makes a statement over just about any color.  I like the contrast with the blue.
The capelet was an amazing find.  It was on the sale rack of TJ Maxx for $15!!! It's perfect for a day there's just a small nip in the air and I don't need to bundle up in one of my heavy wool jackets.

A&F Flashback

Halfway through my day, I thought to myself "I feel like I'm back in 2003 when everything I wore was from Abercrombie and Fitch."  Probably because my jean jacket was from Abercrombie & Fitch, but the whole outfit was a bit casual for my 2013 tastes.  But I guess I can't dress my age everyday.  Let's just be glad I don't actually shop there anymore, $40 for a tee shirt?! Uh, WTF was I thinking back then?! and I bought every single one they came out with! Along with probably 15-20 pairs of $60 jeans and 4 of the exact same distressed jean skirts.  Can I just say that my absolute, hands down, most favorite pair of jeans I own right now were less than $10 from F21. I could honestly wear them every single day! I'm sure we all have past purchases that still haunt us to this day.  My A&F phase was definitely mine.

Marina and the Diamonds

I planned on sharing my engagement video on the blog today (We got engaged a year ago yesterday!) But I can't get the video to upload.  So instead I'm sharing a song I'm currently obsessed with.  She is so gorgeous and her voice is amazing!

Happy Monday Fashionistas =)

Taupe Sweater-Two Ways

I purchased this sweater from the thrift store, the thrift store, people! It was probably $3.  I have worn the crap out of it! I don't know about where you live, but in Ohio, it has been a pretty cold winter.  I'm not a huge sweater person, but after last winter {and wearing the same 4 sweaters over and over} I decided to stock up this year.  Well, since I am on a tight shopping budget because of the wedding, I decided to see what the local thrift store had to offer and I was quite impressed.  I've gotten this sweater, this sweater & this sweater all from the thrift store, along with many more that I have yet to blog about.

Both ways I wore the sweater are pretty similar, but it created 2 completely different outfits.  I actually think I wore them a few days apart from each other.  I had taken the sweater off after the first day and tossed it at the foot of my bed, then when I needed a quick outfit to throw on to go check out some wedding venues with my mom on a Saturday I re-fashioned it into a {slightly} new outfit.

 Yes that is a tanning bed in the background.  I realized that my tanning salon has a full length mirror and amazing lighting for pics on my cell phone! lol
Outfit 1 details: Sweater-Thrifted // Chambray top-America Eagle, December 2012 // Scarf-H&M, November 2012 $14.95 // Jeans-Forever 21, October 2012 // Boots-Break 3, October 2012 {ON SALE NOW for $13!!!}
 Clearly my mirror is in need of a dusting. I've been SO busy it's been awhile since I cleaned my room.
Outfit 2 Details: Sweater-Thrifted // Gingham top-Thrifted {I seriously have gotten some great finds!} // Fur Vest-Ebay, October 2012 $20 // Boots-Shoedazzle, November 2012 $40 // Necklace and chainlink bracelet-Groopdealz {Seen here and here} Pearl bracelet-Forever 21 {came in a set with 2 others}

 ANNNDDDD I just remembered why I'm happy that I haven't been blogging...linking up to the websites forces me to go to them! and when I go to them I want to shop! I actually haven't bought anything since my Hunter rain boots over a month ago and was really proud of myself, and now after just checking a few sites the itch is back.  Unfortunately {fortunately for my wallet} I gave up shopping for lent...this is going to be a long 40 days...

Black, White & PINK!

To break up the same old drab winter outfits I like to try and wear skirts or dresses at least once a week.  When I was in high school every Wednesday I wore a skirt/dress.  It's like in mean girls when "on Wednesdays we wear pink" except this was long before mean girls. For some reason, anytime I wear hot pink, I end up mixing it with black and white.  I just love the classic black and white with that pop of pink, usually I wear silver too, so I decided to mix it up this time with gold for a different look.

I'm trying to keep this blog going, I really am, it's hard enough making posts everyday and trying to network and get followers when I'm not working 60+ hours a week and planning a wedding.  But I will promise to try and blog more and attract more followers.  But as always, THANK YOU for reading and if you haven't already, don't for get to join with the link over here ---->

Pardon my Disappearance...

I am so sorry to my followers (There are only a few, but I appreciate each one of you!) I have been driving myself crazy over this wedding planning! I have devoted every spare minute of my time to wedding planning, working out and picking up extra shifts at the bar {So I can afford all of this stuff!}. I have had to put fashion and blogging on the back burner :( But I promise I'll be back! I still take outfit pics from time to time, but I just want to let you know that I'm alive and well :) I will continue my daily blogging once the wedding stuff has settled down a bit.  I feel like it comes in waves, so I'm just waiting for this wave of preparation to be over.

So I decided to make a wedding blog post with all the ideas I'm planning and hopefully it all comes together on our special day =)

 Our Save the Date postcards that my awesome roommate/co-worker TJ designed.
 A few of my girls in their dresses (They're getting all long, satin dresses in the color Viola, in different styles to fit their personality and body type) I have 9 bridesmaids total.

This color (below) is the color all the dresses will be.

The dress I want for my flower girl

 The Inspiration for my wedding colors {Purple, Grey, Black and White}
 I want crystal chandeliers everywhere!
A few of my centerpiece ideas

My 2 favorite wedding cakes, I can't decide if I want to go simple or more detailed with the fondant flower and beading along the tiers.

 This is where I want to hold my ceremony.  It's an old historical house, turned boutique hotel, it can be outdoors (pictured above) or tented if it rains (below).
Below is Squires Castle in Cleveland, OH where I plan to take pictures in between the ceremony and reception.
 This pretty much sums it up...

I can't wait for my wedding day, it's less than 8 months away!!  Check out my awesome videographer I booked, I will be posting all my pics and videos after the big day!

I will be back with more fashion soon!
xoxo,
Marcy
